What's the difference between CGST, SGST, and IGST calculations in the GST calculator?

CGST, SGST, and IGST are the three types of GST levied on intrastate and interstate transactions in India.

CGST or Central GST is levied by the Central Government on intrastate supplies. SGST or State GST is levied by the state governments on intrastate supplies. CGST and SGST are simultaneously levied on goods and services within a state.

For instance, if the CGST rate is 9% and the SGST rate is 9%, the total GST on intrastate supplies is 18% (9% CGST + 9% SGST).

IGST, or Integrated GST, is levied on interstate supplies by the Central Government. It is the combined equivalent of CGST and SGST. For interstate transactions, IGST is levied instead of CGST and SGST.

The GST calculator computes CGST, SGST, or IGST as applicable based on the place of supply entered. You only have to enter the product value and billing location. The right GST components are system-computed.
