Can I schedule future payments for my municipal bills online?

You can now easily schedule future municipal bill payments by setting up UPI AutoPay mandates. NPCI has enabled a new UPI AutoPay facility for recurring payments.

To use this, first enable the AutoPay feature in your BHIM UPI app, such as Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe, etc. Next, when making any bill payment, such as electricity, water, or property tax, tick the option to authorise future payments. Confirm it with your UPI PIN.

This will create your standing instruction and e-mandate. Thereafter, the set municipal bill amount will automatically be deducted from your bank account on the scheduled due dates every month without needing further approval.
It is a fast and convenient way to schedule advance payments for your upcoming municipal bills.
