Will all three credit bureaus give you the same credit score?

All three credit bureaus in India—CIBIL™, Experian, and Equifax—calculate your credit score, but the numbers they give are rarely identical. Each bureau uses its own scoring model, which means they look at your financial data in slightly different ways. The main factors—like payment history, credit use, and length of credit history—are considered by all, but each bureau assigns different weights to these factors. Some may even include extra variables in their calculations.

There are other reasons scores can vary:

  • Lenders might not report your credit activity to every bureau. Sometimes, a late payment or new loan appears on one report but not another.
  • The timing of data updates is not always the same. One bureau might have more recent information than the others, especially if lenders send updates at different times.
  • Small reporting errors or delays can also create differences.

It’s normal to see a slight difference in your credit scores from each bureau. If you notice a large gap, check your reports for mistakes or missing information. Make sure all your accounts and payments are listed correctly. Reviewing all your reports helps you spot errors and keep your credit profile healthy.

  • Each bureau uses its own unique scoring model.
  • Data reported by lenders may not reach all bureaus.
  • Updates to your credit history may happen at different times.
