An acre is a unit of area measurement that is commonly used for land areas. 1 acre is equivalent to 43,560 square feet (sq ft).
To convert an area in square feet to acres, you simply divide the area (in sq ft) by 43,560. For example, if you have a plot of land that is 65,340 sq ft, divide it by 43,560 to get the area in acres:
65,340 sq ft / 43,560 sq ft per acre = 1.5 acres
The same principle applies when converting square metres or other metric units to acres. 1 acre is approximately equal to 0.405 hectares or 4,047 square metres.
So, to convert square metres to acres, divide the area in square metres by 4,047. For example, if the area is 9,000 sq metres, divide by 4,047:
9,000 sq m / 4,047 sq m per acre = 2.22 acres
The conversion between hectares and acres is simple since 1 hectare equals 2.47 acres. To convert, just multiply the area in hectares by 2.47. Use an online area conversion calculator to convert area to acres.
