*T&C Apply
There is no defined time period to wait between credit score checks. You can check your own credit score as often as you like. This is called a soft inquiry and it does not affect your score in any way.
When lenders check your credit because you have applied for a loan or credit card then it is a hard inquiry. Too many hard checks in a short period can lower your score slightly.
That’s why it’s smart to space out your credit applications.
Here are some other key aspects to remember:
• Checking your own score is safe and has no impact.
• Lenders’ checks (hard inquiries) should be spaced out.
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) rules ensure credit updates every 15 days.
• Review your report before applying for any new credit.
• Fix mistakes quickly to keep your profile healthy.
Responsible checking and careful timing of applications help protect your score and improve your access to credit.
