If you have made a bill payment through BBPS but the biller has not yet confirmed receipt, here is what you should do:
Confirm payment details
Begin by verifying that your payment was completed accurately by:
- Logging in to your bank account and matching the paid amount and the biller details with your transaction record
- Checking if the payment reflects as deducted from your account
- Ensuring there were no issues such as an interrupted internet connection while making online payments
Contact biller
If payment details match from your end, contact your biller immediately regarding non-receipt of payment. Contact details are generally present on the bill, invoice or their website.
- Provide the transaction reference number or other payment details
- Request for payment confirmation and update if any extra charges apply for late payments
Follow up with the bank
Additionally, you can contact your bank in case of the following:
- Payment was debited but not credited to the biller
- Any transaction or technical error is identified from the bank's end
Your bank can verify whether the funds have been debited from your account and, if necessary, coordinate with the biller’s bank to resolve the issue. This will also help ensure no late payment penalties. Stay persistent and proactively follow up until receipt confirmation. Maintain communication records for all discussions.
