Financial instiuitions offer a preferential interest rate of +0.50% per annum to all senior citizens aged 60 and above, regardless of gender. This bonus is applied over and above the standard card rate for the selected tenure and scheme.

The institution may also provide a 0.05% bonus rate for women depositors, this does not apply in addition to the senior citizen benefit. In other words, senior citizen women receive the same enhanced rate as any senior citizen.
