When deciding whether to go for a long-term or short-term recharge plan, it all comes down to your personal habits and budgets. Long-term plans are good for people who want to set and forget. You pay once and get benefits for months (even up to a year in some cases). Long-term plans often come with additional perks, such as bonus data, OTT subscriptions or discounts, that aren't available on a month-to-month / prepaid pack. And there is the convenience of not worrying about recharging every few weeks and for a lot of people in India, that is a big deal.
Short-term plans give you flexibility. If you find that your usage varies dramatically from month-to-month, or you want to maintain flexibility before you settle on something, they can be good. For example, you may be travelling or want to experiment with a few different offers before you settle on one. Short-term packs allow you to try new plans more frequently, and to more easily control your monthly expenses.
You should think about your average data, calling, and SMS usage each month. If your needs are consistent, and you are keen to save a few bucks, long-term plans offer a better price when everything is factored in and taken as a whole.
