Is there a plan with only data and no calls?

In India, data only plans are common with mobile operators, and an ideal option for users who want to access the internet without the needs of making voice calls or SMS. If you use your phone, tablet or dongle for the purposes of browsing, streaming or online work, these plans work better. Many people use data only plans for their second device or where they don't want to use the regular calling features like mobile operators.

You can get started by accessing the mobile operator's official website or mobile app. You will see sections labelled 'Data Packs' or 'Internet Packs'. You will have options to small daily data boosters to long monthly or long term plans. These plans usually come with a set amount of data, and a number of days validity. There are no bundled minutes or SMS, just data.

You can either recharge these plans online through today’s payment apps, or banking or NBFC portals, or directly from the website. You also have the option of offline payment by visiting an authorised retail outlet, and ask to do a data only recharge.

Double check the data limit and validity of the plan before you pay. Some plans allow rollover, while others will go away at the end of the cycle. Select the one that works for you based on your use, whether you are a light browser, or a heavy streamer.
