What should I do if I have a dispute regarding my maintenance charges?

In case you have any disputes related to the housing society maintenance charges demanded from you, first have a detailed discussion with the administrative office bearers. Ask them to clarify your doubts and provide a breakup explaining the monthly charges.

If your concerns remain unresolved mutually after consideration, formally bring up the issue in the next General Body Meeting (GBM). Prepare all relevant points and details for the meeting discussion with the management committee. If need be, request an emergency or extraordinary GBM to resolve the maintenance charges dispute.

You have the right to contest unjustified or disproportionately high demands. If the majority of members also experience the same issue, collective formal complaints can request the management committee to revise the payment structure.
