Will I receive SMS or email alerts for BBPS payments?

You can receive both SMS and email alerts for transactions that are done through the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS).

SMS Alerts

• When you make the bill payment, your bank will send an SMS notification with details of the transaction.
• This includes information such as biller name, biller ID and amount paid.
• Most banks provide free SMS alerts for financial transactions to help you track payments.

Email Alerts

• In addition to SMS, you can opt for email alerts from your bank for BBPS payments.
• Email alerts contain more detailed information about the transactions.
• It includes transaction date, reference number, payment status, etc.

Biller Alerts

• Apart from bank alerts, some billers also have their notification systems.
• Electricity boards, telecom providers, etc., may send payment receipts through SMS and email.
• This serves as an additional confirmation of payment completion from the biller side.
