Will there be any charges for delayed postpaid phone bill payments?

Late payment fees get charged in case of postpaid bills paid after due date. These fees are billed and listed in the monthly bills depending upon the operator, and are also made available from their website. For example, many operators in India may charge a flat rate or a certain percentage of the amounts outstanding, whichever is greater. This can rapidly become quite hefty, especially if you miss payments for numerous months.

The downside is that if you persist in delaying your bill payments, there are many repercussions beyond additional charges. At first, an operator will restrict the outgoing calls and data, if the bill remains unpaid, a connection may be suspended in its entirety, for reinstatement you may be asked to pay a reconnection charge. Prolonged non-payment can get your number blacklisted by the operator where you won't be able to use their services in the future.

The other effect is that of credit score. Non-payment of postpaid bills would be reported to credit agencies, which would make it really difficult to get loans or credit cards in the future. Calls from the operator or recovery agents along with reminders seem to be an endless list.
